Randy Schlager is a busy person—the only real way to catch him is before his set at the club on the weekends. I was able to grab Randy as he put on an extended Rihanna remix to ask him a few questions…
Richard: Hey Randy! Tell me about your show on C89.5!
Randy: It’s called Powermix and runs early Saturday mornings. I play EDM, House, Trance, and classics.
Richard: If you had to pick one genre that was your absolute favorite, which would it be?
Randy: Probably house music.
Richard: I guessed that! I usually hear some really incredible house remixes of tracks on the show and when you’re in the club, so it makes sense that you’re out looking for them. We love that you can bring those remixes to the radio.
Randy: It’s cool to be on C89.5 for the additional opportunity for exposing music beyond the club experience.
Richard: What’s an awesome C89.5 experience that’s stuck with you?
Randy: Being live on-air during a pledge drive with my host & board-op, blowing the siren and engaging our audience in such fun, party atmosphere.
Richard: Thanks Randy! Before getting back to the booth, any parting words?
Randy: It has been so terrific to see our station grow and evolve while being engaged in such a positive way over the years.
