  • One entry per person.

  • One winner per household.

  • Employees, volunteers and students of KNHC, the Contest’s participating sponsors and their advertising agencies, employees of other radio or television stations, and members of the immediate family of any such persons are not eligible to participate and win.  The term “immediate family” includes spouses, siblings, parents, children, grandparents, and grandchildren, whether as “in-laws,” or by current or past marriage(s), remarriage(s), adoption, co-habitation or other family extension, and any other persons residing at the same household whether or not related.
  • Void where prohibited by law.

  • Listeners may only win or qualify to win once every thirty (30) days.

  • A contest entrant must be prepared to identify the prize that they are trying to win.
  • KNHC Radio reserves the right to cancel, terminate or modify the contest.

  • The decision of the KNHC Radio is final.

  • KNHC Radio and sponsors are not responsible for the inability of caller to complete the call during the call-in portion of the contest whether due to telephone equipment malfunctions; disconnections; busy lines; faulty, mistranscribed, misdirected, or misdialed telephone communications; or other circumstances. Only calls to the designated telephone number will be eligible to win.

  • Prizes are non-transferable and non-exchangeable.

  • No substitution or cash equivalent will be made.

  • KNHC Radio reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if the awarded prize in unavailable for any reason.

  • If tickets to a performance are awarded as a prize, KNHC Radio is not responsible for any cancellation or rescheduling of the performance for any reason and has no obligation to reimburse, refund or otherwise substitute the tickets for another prize should the performance not be rescheduled or vouchers not issued.  Furthermore, KNHC Radio is not responsible for cancellations or delays in travel accommodations and has no obligation to reimburse, refund or otherwise substitute any tickets awarded as a part of a travel prize due to such cancellations or delays.

  • No purchase necessary

  • Contests on KNHC Radio are on-going. Individual giveaways are announced periodically throughout the broadcast day.

  • Contestants can enter or participate by following the instructions announced on air.

  • Time and means of selecting a winner are announced on-air.

  • If it is necessary to break a tie, the station management shall determine the winner.

  • All contest prizes are considered taxable income and must be reported to the tax authorities. Non-cash prizes are considered income at their fair market values.

  • All winnings from whatever sources that you keep for yourself must be reported as income on IRS Form 1040 (or the appropriate IRS form). However, if you are chosen the winner of the prize but refuse to accept it, then you do not have to report it as income, as you never received the item. There is no threshold for the prize winner, who is required to report the fair market value as “other income” on his or her tax return.

  • Winners need to talk to their own tax adviser. KNHC or the Seattle School District cannot be relied on to give tax advice.
