Eligibility
This contest is open to all adults, 18 and over. Employees, volunteers, and currently enrolled students of C89.5/KNHC Public Radio (“KNHC”) or Seattle Public Schools, the Contest’s participating sponsors (“Sponsors”) and their advertising agencies, and members of the immediate family of any such persons are not eligible to participate and win.
Compliance with the eligibility requirements will be determined solely by KNHC. All Federal, State and local laws and regulations apply. Void wherever prohibited or restricted by law.
Entries
The Contest begins at 12:00AM on Thursday, June 1, 2023 and ends at 12:59PM on Friday, June 30, 2023. Any eligible individual who contributes a song to the Pride Playlist and provides their name and contact information is automatically entered in the Contest. Regardless of the number of songs contributed to the playlist, each person will only be entered into the Sweepstakes one time. All entries become the property of KNHC and will not be acknowledged.
In compliance with the Washington State Gambling Commission regulations, no donations to KNHC are required to enter the Contest. Those without access to the online form may contribute to the playlist and enter the contest by calling 206-252-3801, indicating they are entering the Pride Playlist Request Contest, giving the name of the artist, the title of the song, their first and last name, email address, and valid phone number.
KNHC assumes no responsibility for computer system, hardware, software or program malfunctions or other errors, failures, damages, delayed computer transactions or network connections, whether human, technical or otherwise in nature, in conjunction with this contest, participation or in connection with any prize acceptance. KNHC, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to disqualify any person tampering with the entry process, the operation of the website or who is otherwise in violation of the Official Rules. Entrants agree KNHC has the sole right to decide all matters and disputes arising from this contest and that its decision is final and finding.
Determination and Awarding of Prizes
Winner will be determined in a random drawing (from among all eligible entries) on or about July 6th, 2023, conducted by representatives of KNHC, whose decisions are final and binding in all matters relating to this Contest. Winner will be notified by telephone or e-mail on or about July 7th, 2023 and will be given instructions on how to claim their prize. Any prize not accepted by the winner within fourteen (14) days of notification, in KNHC’s sole discretion, will be awarded to an alternate winner. If a prize notification e-mail or any prize is returned to KNHC as undeliverable, that prize will be awarded to an alternate winner.
Prize
One prize winner will receive two Y-class Alaska Airlines travel vouchers. Each voucher is valued at $500. Vouchers expire one (1) year after issue date.
To obtain the Prize, the winning entrant must provide proof of the correctness of entrant’s information on the entry form and compliance with the terms and conditions contained in the Official Rules by signing an Affidavit of Eligibility, and Release of Publicity, and Release of Liability, and must provide KNHC with their taxpayer identification number using the appropriate form (currently Form W-9) obtainable on the IRS website: https://www.irs.gov/forms-pubs/about-form-w-9 and return the executed documents to KNHC no later than July 31st, 2023.
All taxes on prizes, including but not limited to Federal, State and local taxes, are the responsibility of the winner.
No cash equivalent will be made for a prize. Prizes are not redeemable for cash, exchangeable, or transferable.
KNHC reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if the awarded prize is unavailable for any reason.
All flights are subject to availability. All expenses, including baggage and seat fees and incidental travel needs, including but not limited to, meals, personal charges, security fees, or other expenses or incidentals are the responsibility solely of the Winner.
Odds of Winning
Odds of winning are determined by the total number of entries received.
Release and Indemnification
Entry constitutes permission for KNHC (except where prohibited by law) to use winner’s name, area of residence, voice, picture and/or likeness for publicity purposes without additional compensation.
By entering, all entrants agree to be bound by the Officials Rules and further agree to release, indemnify, and hold harmless KNHC, it’s licensee, affiliates, successors and funders, and their respective directors, officers and employees from and against all actions, causes of actions and liability, including attorney’s fees and costs, arising out of or relating to participation in the contest and receipt and use or misuse of the prize awarded.
Additional Rules
Entry materials/data that have been tampered with or altered, or mass entries generated by a script, macro, or use of automated devices are void. KNHC and the Sponsor are not responsible for; (i) lost, late, misdirected, damaged, garbled, or illegible entries; (ii) error, omission, interruption, deletion, deficit, delay in operations of transmission, theft, or destruction or unauthorized access to or alterations of entry materials, or for technical, network, telephone equipment, electronic, computer, hardware or software malfunctions of any kind, or inaccurate transmission of or failure to receive entry information by KNHC on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the internet or at any web site or any combination thereof; or (iii) any injury or damage to entrant’s or any person’s computer related to or resulting from participating in the Contest.
KNHC reserves the right to: (i) permanently disqualify from the Contest any person it believes has intentionally violated these official rules; and (ii) suspend, modify, or terminate the Contest if KNHC believes, in its sole discretion, that malfunction, error, disruption, or damage is impairing or will impair the administration, security, fairness, or integrity or proper play of the Contest. If the Contest is determined before the end date, KNHC will determine the winner from all eligible entries received as of the termination date.
LEGAL WARNING: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN INDIVIDUAL, WHETHER OR NOT AN ENTRANT, TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE, DESTROY, TAMPER, OR VANDALIZE THIS WEB SITE, OR INTERFERE WITH THE OPERATION OF THE SWEEPSTAKES, IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND KNHC RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES AND DILIGENTLY PURSUE ALL REMEDIES AGAINST ANY SUCH INDIVIDUAL TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
